Dear GTOC8 teams,

We are now about 1/3 of the way through the competition; I hope your researches on the problem are fruitful and satisfying!

I am attaching a text file with some clarifications which are in response to questions from some of the teams. Item 3, (reporting of lunar flybys) is perhaps the one of broadest interest.

In addition, an updated Team List is attached, with the following changes:

** Team 22 includes a contingent from UniRoma La Sapienza, led by Guido Colasurdo

** Team 35 is added: Vinayak Vadlamani and colleagues at Team Indus, Axiom Research Labs, India

** Team 36 is added: Shuang Li and colleagues at the NUAA, China

** Slight revisions to memberships of some Teams

Best regards,

Dear Teams,

We are almost 2/3 of the way through the competition. I look forward to receiving the solutions! As a reminder, the deadline is 23 June 2015, 20:00 GMT. For the submission files, feel free to send them compressed (e.g. using zip, gzip, bzip, etc) if that is more convenient for you.

If you are planning on submitting a solution, please let me know if you have a preference for the GTOC8 Workshop. If most people who are planning on submitting a solution can make it, I would prefer Vail, Colorado at the AAS/AIAA ASC, Aug 13. The fallback option is at the AAS/AIAA SFM in Napa, California, Feb 14-18, 2016. (See http://www.space-flight.org/conferences.html for conference details.)

Best regards,

-anastassios

Dear GTOC8 teams,

some teams had questions about the reporting needed for the Trajectory File. These are addressed in the attached, updated clarifications.txt file. #4 and #5 are new entries and entry #2 was edited for clarity.

Best regards,

Hi Anastassios,

thanks once more for the challenging and interesting GTOC-8 task.

Concerning the workshop: I would NOT be able to participate Ugust 2015.
The alternative with Feb 14-18 in 2016 would be fine with me.

Dietmar Wolz did not make concrete planning so far, but he would likely
participate only when our team had some outstanding success (which seems
not so likely, at the moment).

Best regards, Ingo.
