Deal all,
while we all are
frantically watching the leaderboard and the fierce battles
happening to get the best possible final rank, let me take a few
seconds of your time to remind you of the next events.
After the competition is finished (1st May) I would like to
receive a paper describing the teams methods and thoughts on the
problem by the following week (8 May). The paper must be in the
latex format here described
(http://www.esa.int/gsp/ACT/publications/ActaFutura/ see the
downloadable template under Submission guidelines).
This will allow me to try and get the papers of the teams
participating to the workshop in the conference proceedings.
I will also accept later papers (from all teams) for inclusion in the special issue of Acta Astronautica and/or online distribution.
Also, during the first week of May, I need to finalize the final
workshop schedule (I obtained several concessions to be late, but
the organizers are now demanding more info).
For that I would need to know how many teams are intending to participate to the final workshop. For the time being I received confirmation from NUDT and Tsinghua-LAD who will be there if all goes weel with visas applications.
So, to recap, ideally all team leaders should you send me (by the
competition end) a mail (use my dario.izzo _AT__ esa.int address) in the format below:
Subject: [GTOC9] - After-the-deadline Plans TEAMNAME
1) We do (do not) intend to submit a paper by the 8th of May.
2) We do (do not) intend to submit a paper at a later stage for the Acta Futura Special Issue
3) We do (do not) intend to participate to the final workshop in Japan.
Good luck to all for the last 5 days which, I am sure, will be breathtaking ....
Dario
P.S. I am so addicted to watch the leaderboard that I will need some rehabilitation once this is over ;)
Dario,
We will not be able to provide a paper for the May 8th deadline.
We may consider a paper for the special issue, depending on the deadline for it to be submitted.
We will not be able to attend the conference in Japan.
Thanks for organizing the competition. It is a very good problem this year. Sorry we cannot participate more but we need more lead time for us to take part in official workshops or journals.
Chris
