[GTOC 13 ] Competition Dates Announcement

Dear GTOC Community,

The moment we have all been patiently [impatiently] waiting for: the start of GTOC13.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory is organising the 13th Edition of the Global Trajectory Optimisation Competition this year.  The dates for the competition are as follows:

Mid-September :: GTOC13 Website will go live and registrations will open at the website

17 October    :: Registration will close

20 October, 17:00 UTC  :: Competition Start (problem is posted on website)

17 November, 18:00 UTC :: Competition End (submissions close).

Early-Mid [TBD] 2026   ::  Workshop

There will be a leaderboard for the competition, and solutions will be submitted via the website and checked automatically upon submission.

Keep an eye out for the website announcement on this forum, and also other updates on the official ESA GTOC Portal (https://sophia.estec.esa.int/gtoc_portal/?page_id=1099).

We know you are all anxious to get started on GTOC13, please bear with us a little longer while we go through the final steps of bringing the website on-line.

Once on-line, the registration will open at the website immediately.

The Competition Start Date (problem disclosure) remains at October 20, 17:00 UTC.

Dear GTOC Community,

We expect the GTOC13 website to come on-line in the next one or two business days.  The URL will be posted here once available.  Registration to participate in the competition can be done at the website once it is on-line.  The website will have all the relevant information about the competition.  As with recent previous GTOCs, there will be a leaderboard for the competition, and solutions will be submitted via the website and checked automatically upon submission.

Important dates remain the same, although, in a break with tradition, we are extending the registration period to include the first few days after the problem is announced:

** Problem-release date remains October 20, 17:00 UTC

** Solution submission period begins 24 October, 17:00 UTC

** Registration will be permitted through 24 October

** Competition End (submissions close) 17 November, 18:00 UTC
