to Game Tester
Being able to support a lifestyle in which the words "fun" and
"wealth" dominate is most people's desire. As the gaming industry
grows by day, more and more people choose to become game testers
because of the benefits this type of job implies.
Unfortunately, many people are disappointed when they found out that
getting $200 an hour just for playing video games is impossible. In
order to have the right expectations when it comes to game testing,
here is some job information that future game testers need to know:
beginner game testers will make about $10-$15 an hour when testing
their first video game. Companies promising $200 an hour are most
likely scams and are not to be trusted.
after gaining experience, game testers will make anywhere between $30
and $80 an hour, depending on the company they work for and their
commitment.
work, effort and persistence are mandatory. Game testing is after all
a real job! There is no doubt that testing games has its benefits,
allowing you to set up your own schedule and work with nothing but
your underwear on, but you should keep in mind that nothing is given
away for free. Make sure you do your best when testing games, so that
your salary will show it!
English is money! Making good money in the game testing industry is
hard for people that cannot speak an international language fluently.
Of course, you can test games developed by a local company, but that
salary will never compete with what an American can make from the same
sort of job.
scam is always there! Scam websites appear whenever a new making money
opportunity is discovered, so make sure you gather information on
every company you want to work with.
rejection is not uncommon. Companies can choose their own personnel,
so being rejected when you first apply for a job in the gaming
industry is possible. Thankfully, after testing a couple of games
everything goes smoother and finding a new game to test is piece of
cake.
