Dependencies to build on Ubuntu

I am regular user and starting python gtk developer. I download the
sources and try to compile it, could someone told me, what would be
the necessaries dependencies to build parasite on Ubuntu.

* gtk+-2.0 >= 2.12.0
* pygtk-2.0 >= 2.10.3 (if python is available)
build-essential package should take care of the rest.
Btw, if you have a problem configuring/compiling, the best way to get
help is to post the error message...
