Dear all,

I now have a proposal to fully specify the use of ADDED and un-deprecate REPLACEMENT in the schedule relationship of a trip update, based on the OpenTripPlanner implementation.

In short, they allow specifying completely new trip patterns which are unrelated to the schedule in the GTFS static. ADDED requires a trip_id which do not exist in the GTFS static, while REPLACEMENT requires a TripDescriptor which matches an existing trip like the other values. In both cases, the whole journey must be specified end-to-end without referring to the GTFS static.

We have already made a deployment in Great Britain in order to support real-time National Rail train times using OpenTripPlanner, located at https://test.open-trip-planner.jnction.co.uk/otp/ , and I will put it to a vote after 7 days.

Thanks,
Michael

Hello,
Thank you for the efforts. But, I am looking for the scrip to know how I can run the trip speed with gtfs data. I tried several scripts without success. Can someone help me please ?

Thank you for your help

Hi Rupin,

I don't think your question has to do with the current topic, specifically schedule_relationship: ADDED/REPLACEMENT. You could start a new topic or directly email me if you so desire and offer some more information about your inquiry:

What data exactly do you want to extract speed from? Derive ideal speed from a static GTFS schedule or monitor speed of vehicles from a GTFS-Realtime speed.

What have you tried and in which programming language do you need a solution? What scripts have you tried? Can you provide a source data sample?

Best regards,
Bogdan.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am grateful for your response. I am working with GTFS STATIC data and am seeking to ascertain the speed based on distance and time using the R programming software. Despite attempting various methods, I have not yet achieved the desired results. Could you kindly advise on the best course of action? Would sharing my script be beneficial?

I am grateful for your assistance.
