How to add stops without adress?

Hello!

How can I verify stops without an adress?

I want to add boat-stops for our public boat company.

It is not possible to ask for a postcard by mail because these stops don't have post adresses. So what is the alternative to add thes kind of stops?

Which part of the standard, do you think, would require an address, opposed
to providing a latitude and longitude in an GTFS export?

Or do you mean something like Google Maps validation?

Hello Stefan! :)

In our Google Business profile we added our stops (= the places where our boats dock).

The first 3 are ok. All the other places require verification. When I press ''verify''; they need a reel address to send a postcard to verify..

Hi Elise,

I believe there is a bit of confusion going on here. GTFS and GTFS Realtime are standards which allow you to publish public transport data in such a way that it is used as part of planning travel itineraries (eg. a user searches how to get between point A and B, if your boats are a convenient way of doing that it's going to suggest riding them, just as it would do with a bus). What you are showing us in that screenshot is the "Google Business Profile" which just shows a card with the agency's phone number etc. and is a proprietary product of Google. I suggest you access their help page on business location verification - https://support.google.com/business/topic/4854130 and use the Contact Us button to get in touch with them directly.

If there are any further GTFS (transit open data) concerns to be addressed I'm sure me or someone else from the group will gladly help on that side.

Hello Bodo,

Thanks for the clarification. So I do not need to verify these stops in my Business profile to add them in Transit?

I started to add the data in Transit 2 years ago but didn't have the time to finish.

Now I want to finish this but I don't really know how to start.

- I can see that the end date is expired (2022-07-01)

- when I press this PREVIEW; this notification appears:

Forbidden

Error 403

Do you know how to get started again :) ??

Yes, the business profile and Transit are two different things and presence in one is inconsequential to the other (eg. you can have your planning data in Transit without verified business addresses for each of your stops).

I'd like to help you get started again but I think we'd clutter the group with all the discussions in this regard - maybe you can send the details directly to my email and I'll see how I can help - bodo...@gmail.com.

Since you have some PREVIEW data, it means you uploaded something (GTFS zip file?) to the Transit Partner Dashboard. Could you send that file to me so that I can check if it's the right format and everything?

Also, does it say 403 forbidden both if you click on the "fetch date" link corresponding to the "preview" entry in the table and if you click the one which has some validation errors (the one from december last year)?

You can try sending me the file you uploaded to the Transit platform and the errors you can see in the latest validation report and I'll see if I can help you get those resolved and therefore get you ready to publish your data.
