Hi Vincent

What kind of testing do you need?

Hi,

Sorry for my English,

for a work, I compare 2 protocols,  gtfs realtime and SIRI.
For each,
I would like to create a prototype.
However I can not find any tool to test my gtfs "proto" file.
I would like also to observe the resultat with a GTFS flow.
Could you help me?

thank you

Hi ,

I would like to make the files with the protocol GTFS realtime to see the result combined with GTFS files.
Then do the same, but with the standard siri.

This will allow me to see what is the most efficient to meet my needs.
I can also see the difficulties and achieve them.

Hi All,
We're about to implement a service alert feed and I'm seeking some advice on the best pattern to use. My thinking is that alerts are likely to be infrequent but important. Polling would need to be frequent in order to be timely but would waste a lot of resources ordinarily. I'm thinking of holding a request open until either alerts are available or some predetermined heartbeat interval has elapsed.
Comments and advice welcome.
  Gregory Nicholls.

Right now, most consumers of the feed would use a polling method.  I agree it's not super efficient, but a GTFS-realtime service alert feed is pretty compact so it's not a whole lot of wasted band-width.

There has been some interest in a more-official pub-sub method for GTFS-realtime.  Stefan de Konik and I hashed out a pub-sub proposal built on top of IETF Websockets that might be of interest.  I can go into more detail if that sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Brian
