Departure boards on Google Maps shows more real time than is in the corresponding GTFS Realtime feed

Hi,

I'm using the GTFS and GTFS Realtime feeds from https://www.viainfo.net/developers-resources/

What I'm noticing is the departure boards on Google Maps shows more real time than is in the TripUpdates feed.

I've been told that Google are using the same feeds so how is google doing this?

Are they somehow working which Trip a bus is traveling on once it's completed its current Trip and applying real time delays onwards?

Hi,

To answer my own question. I think they are using the block_id field from trips.txt to apply the real time on to future services that have the same block_id.
