Our current working specification is the one Brian Ferris developed a few years ago: http://bit.ly/flexible-public-trans

There are a number of efforts underway to model real services in this spec and discover any changes that are necessary to the spec.

In support of this effort, how about we move to the documentation to github? This will enable us to create branches and pull requests, link to different versions, and discuss them. The idea is borrowed from what’s underway with the primary GTFS. (GTFS-changes link: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/gtfs-changes/IJxv92BUVFM)

If others say this is a good idea, I can go ahead and start this process.

I created this repo a few months back in preparation for some work we have planned with a transit agency related to GTFS-flex, but haven’t started yet.

https://github.com/CUTR-at-USF/gtfs-flex

This is basically a shell at this point that has links to the original Google doc proposal and this group, in the same folder structure/format at the official GTFS/GTFS-rt Github repo.  My thought was that in keeping the same format this could eventually be merged with the main GTFS/GTFS-rt Github repo.

I’m happy to give others push permissions to this repo if we want to use it in the community, so others can review/merge proposals.

The original documentation has been converted to markdown and pushed to the gtfs-flex repository on Github (View pull request).
