Note: this list is primarily for discussing proposed changes to the GTFS spec.  For general transit development questions, your best best is always https://groups.google.com/group/transit-developers

If you were to submit the data to Google Maps as a transit partner, there is a testing phase for your feed where you can verify the routing funcionality.  If you aren't planning on submitting to Google Maps, you might consider the OpenTripPlanner project (https://github.com/openplans/OpenTripPlanner/wiki), which is an open-source routing engine that works with GTFS.

Hello

I have created a test feed and verified its validity with the Feed Validator and Schedule Viewer tools.

https://code.google.com/p/googletransitdatafeed/wiki/ScheduleViewer

I want to test the trips generated by the feed prior to uploading the data. That is to run test "trip plans."

The data is relatively small, so it does not make sense to submit it to Google Maps as a Transit Partner as per the instructions:

http://maps.google.com/help/maps/mapcontent/transit/participate.html

At present Schedule Viewer does not incorporate a Trip Planning functionality. I think this would be a really useful add on! (I have a weak programming background otherwise I would have looked into this and shared my findings).

If it's not possible to accomplish this through Schedule Viewer, is anyone in the group aware of tools available for running a mock Trip Planning with GTFS data? (Windows operating system)

Thank you a lot for your time!
