Fares v2 working group meetings - availability request

Hello GTFS community!

We at MobilityData are excited to continue to work towards the adoption of GTFS-fares v2. In the last meeting we had about the topic, we heard you on the value of having synchronous meetings, and having predictability in how/when your attention is needed.

We will be hosting regular meetings to work through the open proposals, and MobilityData commits to preparing them, allowing whoever can’t attend to share their input easily, publishing summaries, helping draft solutions, and making sure proposals are in-line with GTFS.
Please note that there is still a handful of important functionalities to adopt, which are decided by the community. These include: fare containers and payment types, time-dependent fares, zone-based fares, rider categories, fare capping, inter-agency fares, and improvements for how leg and transfer rules are designed to make it easier to produce and consume this data. 

We believe that in order to adopt this extension efficiently, we need the working group to meet between once every 2 weeks, and once a month.

May I add another topic? We did have a discussion about versioning and it sounds like it should be on the table - and I would even argue that it would be beneficial to have it added ASAP.

Hello Gavriel, 

Versioning has indeed been on the table lately. We have two open issues on the topic (#215 and #288)

Can you please share in this thread why you think it would be beneficial with regard to adopting GTFS-Fares v2 in particular?

Because we're doing lots of changes, some that are not backwards compatible, some revert previous changes, etc. We're no longer jumping from v1 to v2, we're somewhere in 1.1.x

So having a clear versioning system would make it easier to consumers to automatically detect if they can read a feed need to develop some features.
