Route_type match with new value of transportSubmode NEtex 2.4 ?

With the release of NeTEx 2.4 (including the French profile), new submodes such as schoolCoach are being introduced.

Is there any plan to update or extend the GTFS route_type values (or related extensions) to better support these new NeTEx submodes ?

If not, are there recommended best practices for mapping such NeTEx submodes (e.g. schoolCoach) into the existing GTFS route_type framework?

Hello Pauline, this is Skander from MobilityData. We are aware of the additional route_types and we are currently researching their use cases to be able to form an idea on what could be done in the spec.

Currently, there aren't any best practices because these route types are outside of the spec. Feel free to follow the conversation in issue#310 as well as the previous conversation in issue#279.
