Dear Ballroom Dancers,

We have received an terrible news that the Student Center Ballroom's floor will be replaced with carpet.
This means the only place suitable for dance parties on campus is gone. There will be no more ballroom
for ballroom dancing. To fight against this ridiculous decision, please fill out this petition for the Dean of
Students. Your help is the only hope that they might change their mind.

Below is an email from GT Dance Association:

The board of GTDA would like to update all dancers with some very important news:

As you may have seen on facebook, we received word that the Georgia Tech Ballroom’s hardwood floor will be replaced with carpet at the end of June. If the hardwood floor is taken away, GTDA's 14 year tradition of monthly swing dances will end.

Leaders of GTDA met with staff from the Student Center today, and it was confirmed that the ballroom is indeed scheduled for carpeting at the end of the month. Based on this meeting, we have decided to take the issue directly to the Dean of Students and plan to meet with him Thursday of this week. We need a public outcry from Georgia Tech students and alumni to present to the Dean of Students on Thursday, June 6th to help save the floor.

If you are a GT student or alumni, now is the time to act! Please fill out this petition for the Dean of Students: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/18478PSb3jztOYrjfN2rmgFZaDa2VRJ8OipwQF1aC4Oo/viewform
You will need to include your major and graduation year, and why the ballroom is important to you. We believe that personalized, individual statements will be more effective (and much more difficult to ignore) than just a list of names.
