Greetings Everyone!
We're just back from Charlotte after a very fun weekend competing in Charlotte Dancesport Challenge 2013 representing Georgia Tech. Here are the results of our couples.
Saturday Daytime (Syllabus Standard / Smooth)
Olivia and Tim placed 5th in Mixed Gents Newcomer Waltz.
Tong and I placed 6th in Mixed Gents Bronze WQ and 2nd in Mixed Gents Newcomer Waltz.
Lijuan and Cheng got called back for the semifinal in Newcomer Waltz.
Julia and Tong got called back for the finals in Newcomer Waltz/Quickstep and placed 6th for Quickstep and 7th for Waltz!
Mandy and Su got called back for the finals in Newcomer Waltz/Quickstep and placed 5th for Quickstep and 4th for Waltz!
Saturday Night (Open Events and Fun Dances)
Jessie and Luca placed 2nd in Open Novice Standard (Waltz/Foxtrot/Quickstep), 2nd in Open Pre-Champ Standard (Waltz/Foxtrot/Quickstep/Tango) and 1st in Open Viennese Waltz!
Aaron, Lily, Olivia, Tim and Drew had fabulous performance in Reverse Role Rumba...LOL
Sunday (Syllabus Latin and Rhythm)
Olivia and Tim placed 4th in Mixed Gents Newcomer Latin (Chacha)
Tong and I placed 4th in Mixed Gents Bronze Latin (CR) and 2nd Mixed Gents Newcomer Latin (C)
Lily and Aaron got called back for Quater-finals for Bronze Latin (Chacha and Rumba)
Julia and Tong got called back for Quater-finals for Bronze Latin (Chacha and Rumba)
Mandy and Su got called back for Quater-finals for Bronze Latin (Chacha and Rumba)
Mandy and Su placed 4th in Newcomer Chacha and 5th in Newcomer Rumba!
Julia and Tong placed 6th in Newcomer Chacha and 7th in Newcomer Rumba!(in a very competitive 20+ couple event!)
It was a great weekend and congratulations to all competitors! And I encourage anyone who has not yet tried competing to do so in the coming semesters~
A quick announcement: no more intermediate class this Wednesday, but we have a last beginner class/practice on Sunday. Whoever got stressed by the dead week and finals, take a break and come show your moves:) Aaron and Drew will be there to lead the class.
We will keep you updated for any dance events or classes during the summer! Stay tuned!
