Has anyone been stopped by a deputy and told they could not ride their bike to cross Hwy 316? Well, it happened to a fellow cyclists this past week. Jackson Trail Rd at Hwy 316, the deputy made her get off her bike and walk across! Before she walked she asked if walking was legal, he said he did not know. He then pulled out to block traffic and as she was waddling across in cycling shoes he told her to "hurry up". Obviously this deputy has no clue on traffic law and poor judgement overall. He could not produce anything (obviously) showing this made up law of his. The cyclist knows the law but did not have a copy with her. What would you guys do in a case like this?

I would probably have told him that if I couldn't ride across I just wouldn't cross and then ride back the other way before turning back to ride across after he left.
