Hello everyone,

As there are already many resources available for Teaching/Instruction, I've worked on a resource for students as they begin spring quarter.  I have shared it with a group of students with whom I work, and it is currently under development for other potential uses in the Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE). However, I think the availability for students at the beginning of Week 1 could be beneficial.  So I am sending it along now, in the case that you are teaching and you'd like to use with your own students.

I am not teaching this quarter, but if I were, I would post the resource to Canvas and use applicable content as talking points for my particular class or discussion section while reviewing my syllabus.  The document is organized around things students may not think to consider when approaching their classes.  It also includes links to resources from our own campus, as well as some external to UCD.

Helping students transition as well as possible during this first week will likely impact elements of success as the quarter progresses, especially for our less-advantaged students.

If you are not teaching, feel free to pass along to other people who are.

Be well,
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

This sounds awesome, but I don't see the document? It may just be that I'm not super familiar with google groups, but can you double check that it's there. I'd like to share it with my teaching team.

Best,

Sarah H.
