Guys, all these online payment schemes are designed to make money, thats what they do... so it seems a little silly to "refuse" to use any of these very popular ways of making payment because in the end you will cut off your nose to spite your face!!

I have no problem paying however, but do think  the software on AndApp  MUST be up to date! Its really annoying that my phone continues to say there is a new version of gTasks available on the Market, but I cannot download it even though I have paid for it, because the version on Market will replace the paid version I have.

Please sort that out guys, its really frustrating..

Mark.

First of all, it is downright inconvenient.

Second, I refuse to send my money through Paypal. They have a terrible
track record when it comes to dealing with consumers.

Can't you accept Google Checkout? It is far easier to deal with, and I
will never deal with Paypal again.

Let andAppstore use google checkout and I would do it. Otherwise
    forget it.

Google checkout does not work with cross-currency payments which means
it's unable to process certain credit cards for many merchants, hence
    why we use PayPal.

At the end of the day all of the money goes to the developer so it's
really more a metter of how much you trust him.

Hi Mark,

If only it were that simple :).

There are several instances where Google Checkout (which is behind Android Market) has rejected credit cards and caused user & developer confusion, and so, as things currently stand, the expected increase in costs of supporting Google Checkout won't be covered by the increase in business expected from making it available, hence why there are no plans to make it available.

You only need to look at the recent thread at http://bit.ly/bjFZEt on Google Groups at to see a couple of developers who are pretty unhappy due to its' problems. There is also an entire range of credit cards called Maestro which are completely unusable on it and users don't tend to understand the problem is with Google and not their card (see http://bit.ly/12ICml for one discussion), and given that MasterCard (who operate Maestro) claim there are 540 million card holders that's a lot of people who'll get confused over why they can't pay with their perfectly valid card if we offered Google Checkout.

As for the updates on AndAppStore, that's down to Peter. I know he's on vacation until next week, and hopefully once he's back he'll update AndAppStore with the latest version.

Al.
