Hi Parents,

I posted several weeks ago soliciting suggestions for an after-school
option for my son. This is the first time we will use afterschool care
outside of our home, so it was important to me that it be a structured
program. I was interested in Ace Afterschool, but they had not yet
confirmed whether Sablatura would be on their bus route. I spoke with
them yesterday, and they have indeed decided they will be picking up
from Sab because they have existing students who will be attending the
GT Academy, and they also are interested in an academic-focused
audience. I enrolled Clark yesterday.

Here's Ace's web site: http://www.aceafterschool.com/html/afterschool_programs.html).
What I gathered from friends, the website and the assistant director
is that classes are divided by grade, there is a structured schedule
for homework (homework is checked and additional assistance/tutoring
is available) and in-house activities (including piano, guitar and
pottery). They will even transport to/from karate, tennis and other
activities if they're located w/in 5 miles (for a small fee).

Just wanted to let you know, as I know we're all busily preparing for
the new school year, and some may be attempting to solidify after-
school options.

Good Morning GTA Parents.

This is a response to Ms. Angela's email below.

I

My son Noel has been attending Ace After School since January. We too had an afterschool Nanny that would make sure his homework and piano practice was done. When she had to take more college classes we had to find an altenative. We check a few afterschools and after speaking to Ms. Bini at Ace, we enrolled Noel.
We insisted that his structure be homework and piano insted of after school playtime. They make sure that his homework is finished and is correct. They also make sure he practices his piano. They do not watch him practice but they make sure he spends his time. Noel knows what is needed so this is not a problem. They do however offer piano lessons.

Ms. Bini and her husband have worked with us on many issues. as mentioned in other emails they will pickup at Sablatura. My wife and I shared our 7:15 am drop off at Massey Ranch in the morning. I'm not sure when Sablatura allows drop off but I would think it is later than 7:15am. Ace After School did not have a morning student drop off but has agreed to start one for Sablatura. At this time we are the only ones on this program. If you are also in need of Ace morning drop off, please contact Ms. Bini. If we get enough enrolled we I would think that the price would drop. At this time we have not discussed $$$ but looking back at how she has helped us, I trust that she will be fair with her rates.

Again, we highly recommend Ace After School and their program.

thanks,

Bill, Susan & Noel Seagroves- 5th Grade

Hi Bill & Susan,

Thanks so much for that information. It is very helpful because I was
contemplating two of the things you mentioned: how we'd arrange early
morning drop off and when/how we'd fit in piano practice in the
afternoons. I'm glad to know that Ace can assist with these needs!
