Hey, VGDev!
We've got about a month left now until the Demo (cue accelerated background music, right?), and everyone's games look to be on track to be ready for the big day!
Speaking of which...
Campus Demo
The Campus Demo will be on November 13, from 6 to 9pm, in the Clough Atrium. (That's between the elevators and Starbucks.)
Be sure to mark your calendars and tell your friends about it!
We'll have our usual updates this meeting, and we'll also discuss...
Leadership Elections
This semester is a Fall semester, which means that it's an election semester! \o/
Any club member can run for one of the club's three leadership positions, which I will elaborate about now:
Speaker: The president. Runs the club, makes sure the club has room and event space, and surprisingly, speaks!
Planner: The vice president. Helps the Speaker, plans guest talks, and makes sure everyone's projects are on track.
PR: The public relations person. Makes posters (and a t-shirt design!), manages social media, recruits, and represents VGDev at events!
The duration of the term is two semesters - next Spring and next Fall. If you love to make games, this is an awesome opportunity to get even more involved in what is definitely-and-objectively-the-best-club-on-campus.
I highly encourage you to run for a position! I joined VGDev as a freshman not knowing what the heck was going on at all; but the club was one of my favorite things about college. I've been a member ever since, and it's definitely been an amazing part of my college experience. (I may or may not still not know what the heck is going on at all.)
So definitely consider running for a position (or two or three). Feel free to email me or talk to me if you have any questions~
