Subject: GT UNICEF Water Run 5K
To:
cmappl...@gmail.comThank you Caleb for doing this. Tell your friends that it is free to register and top three teams get prizes!
This is our event description below.
No one can survive without water, yet 768 million people do not have safe, clean water to drink, and more than 2.5 billion people live without a proper toilet. The lack of these basic necessities we often take for granted are lethal for so many around the world. Every day, an estimated 1,600 children under five die of diarrheal diseases; 14,000 of these deaths are linked to water, sanitation and hygiene.
You are invited to participate in the UNICEF Water Run, a continuous relay on a 5K track around campus, to help raise awareness and support for children worldwide who suffer from a lack of readily available clean water. The Water Run emulates the daily hardship people are faced with, in walking for miles carrying buckets full of questionable water that could be contaminated with any number of waterborne diseases.
Form your own team (of 6), or join a friend's team, or sign up individually and have random teammates! Sign up here:
