Hi all guys,

first of all, sorry for my bad english, but i'm italian and english is
not my first language ;)

Now, about my problem...

I'm trying to create a program that contains a frame with the video
streming (only video, no audio) from a webcam because i need a motion
detection solution for a simple allarm application (it's for a college
exam).

I'm using gstreamer library with Eclipse (windows and macOsx
plattaform) but, what i've understand from the gstreamer
documentation, is that the function (that make possible the streaming
from a webcam):

"final Element videosrc = ElementFactory.make("v4l2src", "source");"

works only on Linux kernel and so on Linux Plattaform.

Is there a way to make possible streaming from a webcam using
gstreamer library on other plattaform like windows or mac?

Thanks for the reply;)

Cheer from Italy, Fabrizio de Ceglia

you'd have to look into gstreamer windows source elements.

you can use ossbuild or mingw packages on linux.
but of course you can search for:
gstreamer windows build :-)
