Due to the unavailability of Dr. Sarang for the lecture announced for tomorrow, we are going to start the third section of categorical K-theory: the K-theory of Waldhausen categories. A Waldhausen category is a homotopical category of algebraic nature, generalizing the concept of the category of chain complexes. The K-theory of such a category reveals those core properties through K-groups, just as we have studied earlier.
