Dear All,
We are going to have our first lecture on categorical K-theory this Saturday. With a brief introduction to the concept of Monoidal categories, the speaker, Prof. Sarang Shard Sane will talk about Quillen's S-1S construction for them, which will allow us to define their K-theory. We will also see how this construction is related to the Plus and Q construction as discussed in the last 2 lectures.
Monoidal categories serve an important purpose even outside K-theory, so feel free to join to know more about them. This is the first lecture on the K-theory of algebraic categories (categories with algebraic structures) and has the following position in the K-theory in totality series.
Title: K-theory of a Monoidal Category
Time: 22nd April, Saturday, 3 pm, IST
