Opening Day BBQ– Friday, May 13th, 6:00-8:00pm
Join us as we kick off the 2011 summer season with our traditional “opening night BBQ!” This is a great opportunity to meet new members, socialize with friends, and get excited about the summer GSSC experience! Hot dogs provided. You don’t want to miss this fun event!
Mandatory Parent Meeting– Wednesday, May 18th, 6:30pm (rain or shine)
Meet & greet our coaches, register your children for swim, dive, & tennis teams, Get fitted and order team suits, purchase GSSC “Spirit wear,” learn about new 2011 team traditions/changes, find out about “swim buddies;” and sign up for volunteer assignments.
Suit fitting – Wednesday, May 18th, 5:00-6:30pm (before parent meeting at pool).
I Swim USA-Federal Way is our swim suit vendor and will be on-site at our 5/18 mandatory parent meeting for fittings and placing orders. Our swim/dive team suit & design are the same as last year: TYR “eternal flame” (max back-girls; jammers-boys). If you are new to swim/dive this year, it is highly advised you attend the fitting before you place your order. Limited quantities of suits will be available for purchase at the fitting and our 20% team discount will apply. If you are unable to attend the fitting, please contact Misty, GSSC’s vendor rep, directly at 253-838-6440 or mi...@swimshop.com and she will be happy to help you order and honor our team’s 20% discount at time of purchase. If you already know your size, you can also order online at www.swimshop.com and ship to your home (shipping charges will apply) or ship to I Swim USA-Federal Way and there will be no fee. I Swim USA is located at 1105 S. 348th St. #B106, Federal Way, WA 98003-7027. Be sure to order suits as soon as possible so that you have them in time for GSSC’s first meet June 23.
First Swim Team Pre-Season Practice – Tuesday May 31st
First Regular-Season Swim, Dive, & Tennis Team Practices– Tuesday June 28th
Swim Team Time Trials – Wednesday June 15th, 6:00-9:00pm
This is a terrific way to introduce new swimmers (and returning ones) to the flow of a meet without the stress of a real meet. Please join swimmers and coaches for this event. Parents – take a look at the handbook – it is a terrific way to familiarize yourself with how the meets will run. We will need help with timing – a great way to learn!
Picture Day & Pancake Breakfast– Thursday, July 14th, 8:00am.
Swim (8-9am), Dive (9:00-9:30), & Tennis Team (9:30-10:00am) Group and individual pictures will be taken at the pool with a pancake breakfast to follow. Don’t forget your swim suits & tennis shirts!
Teen Party – Friday, June 17th, 6:00-10:00pm
Music, food, & swimming are all part of this fun club tradition that gives our teens an opportunity to cut loose!
2011 Girls Prelims – Monday July 25th at 4:00 at Gregory-Seahurst
This summer we get to show off Gregory-Seahurst and our awesome girls as we host Girls Prelims! We will need lots of volunteers – come help out and cheer our girls on all the way to Southern Division & All-City Championships!
Adult Party – Saturday July 30th, 6:00-10:00pm
Let the good times roll! This is great fun for our GSSC adults.
Awards Banquet – Wednesday August 3rd, 6pm at Gregory-Seahurst Club
Join us in our wonderful end-of-season tradition to celebrate the season’s accomplishments and honor our coaches, swimmers, tennis players, divers, and volunteers. Please bring a potluck item to share.
