     GSSC “Gator Pride” Booster Club                 

Thank you for taking time to give feedback and offer specific ideas on how our club can provide a great summer team experience for our swimmers, divers, tennis players and families this year!  Many of you expressed a willingness to get more involved and noted that parents can offer our coaches extra hands, resources, talents and energy.  Our coaches loved the ideas too! So….

The Gregory Seahurst “Gator Pride” Booster Club is being formed this year to set your great ideas into motion.  Specifically, its purpose is to better promote and support the activities of our Gregory Seahurst Club, our coaches, our kids; to promote team spirit and encourage volunteerism among parents; and to welcome and orient new families into our club culture.

Here are some specific ways YOU can get involved to make a positive impact this summer.  Consider your talents and interests and email me at czell...@gmail.com to let me know where you want to get plugged in.   I will contact you shortly to give you more details so we can get the ball rolling before the season starts.  GO GATORS!

Coach-Parent Liaison Team: 

Purpose: Provide support to the coaching staff by offering assistance at meets/matches; help organize team activities/outings; welcome and orient new families to our team experience; and come up with fun ideas to show coach appreciation throughout the season.

“Gator Pride” Spirit Team: 

Purpose: Generate & implement fun ideas/traditions to build team spirit and unity; motivate our swimmers, divers & tennis players; rally parents and make our home and away meets feel festive through “theme nights”, fan spirit & music.  

Reward & Recognition Team: 

Purpose: Generate ideas and offer meaningful ways to promote and celebrate individual & team accomplishments throughout the season and at the year-end Awards Banquet.

Photojournalist Team:

Purpose: Take & collect photos and video footage of swim, dive, and tennis teams throughout the season to post on team bulletin board; upload to website; and create photo slideshow and/or video compilation to present at the year-end Awards banquet.

Communication Team: 

Purpose: Assist coaches with getting the word out about important swim, dive, & tennis information & accomplishments.

Volunteer Team:

Purpose: Recruit volunteers for swim, dive, and tennis teams’ meets/matches; track volunteer hours & create special volunteer recognition awards for year-end awards banquet.

New Member Hospitality Team:

Purpose:  Welcome and orient new members to our swim-dive-tennis teams & GSSC culture.

Fundraiser Team: 

Purpose: Identify creative and fun ways to raise funds for the benefit of GSSC Team & Booster Club activities.

 

“Gator Grub” Team: 

Purpose: Assist Snack Shack Chair to make sure snack shack is staffed for all home events.

Swim Meet Computer Team:

Purpose: Set up computer and enter data to record all race/event information during home swim meets; post results; and label ribbons.

GSSC Swim-Dive-Tennis Teams’ Mission:

Develop within our kids, an interest and love for swimming, diving, and tennis; provide training and competitive opportunities for youth of all abilities; celebrate team and individual “personal bests;” and provide a fun, family-friendly, “Gator Pride” atmosphere that builds sportsmanship, character, skills, and friendships.
