Hi GSSC Swim-Dive-Tennis Teams Families!
 

New GSSC Website Soon to Launch!


Within the next couple of days you will be receiving an email from our new GSSC Web Administrator, Erika DuBois, announcing the deployment of Gregory Seahurst's new website and inviting you to explore all of its features.  Not only does the new website showcase fun photos of many of your kids; it provides you with important GSSC news announcements, allows you to see all of our the club's social events and all meet/matches for the season online, it allows you to create your own individual account that gives you online access to priviledged information such as meet/match results, membership directory and the ability to declare which meets/matches you will (or will not) attend this summer and sign up for volunteer opportunities associated with those events.
 
In order to sign up for your account, Erika will send out a follow up email with specific login instructions. I want to point out a couple of things important to swim-dive-tennis team families so that this process is easily executed for you. 
  1. You will notice that we have already populated your account with some basic information such as your names/addresses/contact information and the names of your children.  Parents' names & information is listed under the "Billing Information" and your children are listed individually in the "Members" section. Please review this information for accuracy and correct it if wrong.
  2. As you review your information, you will need to indicate which "Billing Group" you are in.  Unless you are a board member or coach, please select "member" from the dropdown menu. NOTE: Since we are not using the online team registration (I will be hand entering all of your team registration fee information manually) nor are we using this sytem to track and invoice yearly membership dues; the "Billing Group" has NO fees or financial ties associated with it.  It acts merely as a filter at this time. But in order for the system to accept your login, you will need to select this dropdown.
  3. Also under the "Billing Information" you will see additional "tabs" (guardians, insurance/emergency, etc). Filling in this information is optional, but could be helpful in the event we need to contact a family member in an emergency situation).
  4. IMPORTANT: It is critical that you review each or your child's accounts to fill in their correct gender and birthdate (since we didn't have this information, we used generic gender & birthdates) so that the system will assign your child into the correct age-group & gender for team participation (i.e. "boys 8 & Under") This is especially true for the swimmers because the system will automatically advance your swimmer into the next age group based his/her birthdate & the June 15th cut-off date. You will also see a "tab" titled "biography information" and "medical information." Again, this is optional.
  5. For the "Roster Group" dropdown menu please check which age group your child falls in. This allows coaches to email age-specific announcements when necessary. (DO NOT SELECT "Swim" "Dive" or "Tennis" in this dropdown menu). That is an error that we are correcting because those groups are better defined under the "Location" dropdown menu; which is where I want you to go next.
  6. Specifically, go to the "location" dropdown menu to indicate which team(s) your family plans to participate in.  This allows me to create team-specific email distribution lists base on which team(s) you are involved with.  Though "location" isn't an intuitive label, like the "billing group" is a filter within the system that allows me to group families into the proper team classification.
  7. Finally, in addition to your login email address (which will be one login email access per family) you will also notice an option to add additional email address. For example, if my husband's email is the "login" email address, I can also add my email so that I receive team anouncements too.  You will also be able to select an option to receive text messages on your phone (which would be helpful for coaches to send you last minute announcements).

I know this is a lot of information to throw at you in advance, but I want to help make this process simplified.  Once you get your email with login instructions, this will all make more sense.  I am happy to help walk you through it or answer any questions you may have.
