UC Berkeley, 2014MPH Candidate | Public Health NutritionMSW Candidate | Management and PlanningHi Hanna, I'm a chair of GradFood, Berkeley's interdisciplinary food and agriculture graduate student group. I have a couple of thoughts, but I'd also like to reach out to my colleagues, with Daniella's permission. Is it OK to forward her email over our listserv?William L. Haar

Dear SSW Graduate Community,Please see the below email from a very dear friend, Daniella Uslan, MPH. She is embarking this week on a cross-country effort to gather information on/assess the state of innovative food waste practices in the U.S with the Millennial Trains Project (http://millennialtrain.co/). On August 8th, she will be in San Francisco and she's looking for a companion interested in food justice with local knowledge of the city and the relevant scene here. If you or anyone you know may fit the bill for that role and are free this coming Thursday please let me know! I will be happy to connect you both. She is a truly wonderful, curious, and inspiring food justice seeker looking for an SF mind meld....no solicitation involved!Happy August!Hanna______________________________________

My blog:http://dinnovatesfood.tumblr.com/Info on the train project: http://millennialtrain.co/Thanks- email daniell...@gmail.com or call 304-638-0405I am in the process of setting up meetings at ChangeLabs solutions, the National Resource Defense Council, and other such organizations to learn from experts and talk out my idea. This might require bouncing around the city and as a non-native it would be great to have a partner in crime that could help me navigate the city AND who would benefit from this type of networking. Please pass along to your cohort in case folks are interested- or have any other ideas of people to contact. The meetings would be held from 10am-4pm.I will be in San Francisco on Thursday, August 8th as part of the Millennial Trains Project, a 10 day train journey across the US designed to coach budding social entrepreneurs. I am focused on finding ways to utilize food destined for the landfill and reintroduce it into the market by adding value and pricing it affordably-trying to hit the food access and food waste birds with my stone.
