UBC为给学生创造校内工作机会，有一个Work Study Program，那个是对本地学生；对国际学生的叫做Work Learn
Program，说白了就是part-time job，每周最多10小时，每小时最少13加的工资，很不错了，麦当劳这类的每小时也就8块，而且这种
工作往往比麦当劳的要更能给你的简历加分。这最少13（有的给到15）块钱，UBC出9块，你的雇主（教授，staff等）也就出4块。如果是一般的
part－time，加拿大规定底薪是7块多，雇主要全掏。这就是UBC鼓励多创造工作机会。而且work learn只有国际学生有资格。

want to work on campus. For every qualified international student
hired through Work Learn, UBC contributes $9 per hour to the student's
wage (the supervisor pays the remaining amount), for up to 150 hours

找work learn机会有两种途径
There are two ways to look for Work Learn jobs.
1 Look for Work Learn jobs using CareersOnline.
Work Learn jobs will be posted at the end of August and throughout the
year. Apply for these jobs as you would any job (with a cover letter
and resumé). All Work Learn jobs will be identifiable with the words
"Work Learn" in the job title.
2 Tell the staff and professors in your department about the program.
They may be able to create a position for you. If they have questions,
ask them to contact Career Services for more information.
一般来说，国际学生的人脉不旺，直接找到staff或profs为你设置一个职位的可能性不大。所以第一种办法比较稳。可以去到

不管你是什么专业，都有适合你专业的工作，到时候赚点房租（把UBC压榨我们的高昂学费弄回个零头），和老板搞好关系要封推荐信，给自己的简历加加分，
至于什么练练口语，接触接触课堂以外那就更不用说了。更重要的是你这是在工作，在接触人，而不是闷着头读书，很多隐形的信息，资源，关系都是要靠你和人
（而不是书本）打交道的过程中得到的。
需要注意的几点：
1 UBC给work learn预备的费用是一定数量的，每年9月批一次，先到先得，用光了就没了。不过现在刚刚开学，资金很充足。
2 对于刚来到的新生，LPI比什么都重要，如果LPI保证不了，不建议为了一个月几百加元而耽误了学业。
3 同样的，如果你本来能考A，因为work learn或其他part－time job也好volunteer也好各种工作、娱乐活动耽误了成绩，
考了一堆C，忘了来加拿大读本科的最初目的，那也傻的可以。
4 要有自信，不要过分担心自己的英语，人家既然设置work learn的职位，就知道来应聘的是国际学生。
5 careersonline上有更多机会不是work learn，我们也可以申请的。
6 work learn一般都是校内工作，on-campus working是不需要另申work permit，你只要是full-time
student，凭study permit就可以。
最后，LPI >> GPA > making some pocket money (work learn, part-time, etc.)

我也很奇怪，你已经在组里，应该不需要反复邀请才对。我第一次用Google Groups，有些设置再调一下。不知道其他人会不会有类似问题。

二师兄问一个问题哈：为什么我的邮箱每天都会收到5封以上的邮件是邀请我加入我们这个GSP group的呢？我第一天就接受了邀请了啊，这样的邮件多了感觉就有点像垃圾邮件了。我不知道别人有没有遇到这个问题，能否麻烦你检查一下group是不是在自动每天发送邀请函。谢谢！

设置了一下mail delivery，现在是Digest Email (Approximately 1 email per day) Get
up to 25 full new messages bundled into a single email，不知道能不能解决
