Hey Y'all,
As many of you may know, the HIVE is in a period of transition.
This space was created by an energetic group of people full of vision,
and it has since become a vibrant and necessary part of the community.
From the streets of Glenwood to tucked away artist villages in the
foothills of NC, people have heard of the HIVE and are curious about
what we do here, and they're knocking on our locked doors trying to
find out. Community centers should not sit empty behind locked doors
and when people come looking for the HIVE they should be able to walk
into a collectively run community center that is alive and welcoming,
a community center that has lots to offer the community, don't you
think? The founders of the HIVE have taken this space as far as they
can, and they have done a wonderful, wonderful job, but if the dream
of remembering History, sharing Information, developing Vision, and
facilitating Exchange in Greensboro North Carolina is going to last
any longer, it needs you to step up and help make that happen. You may
have been asked before if you were interested in joining one of the
HIVE organizational clusters, or you may have no idea what a cluster
is, either way, the time has come! The HIVE is in desperate need of
fund raising, money makes the world go round and keeps doors unlocked.
There are some great ideas floating around about ways to raise the
funds necessary to keep our space open, but we need PEOPLE to
implement them, we need you. There are many different ways you can be
a part of this, but you need to be a part if you want to see those
doors open again. PLEASE, pretty please, say we can count on you to do
what you can to help us raise what needs to be raised. Shoot me an
email if you're down for lifting this place up! We will have a meeting
of the Fund Raising Cluster the first week of August, before the
cookout on August 8th. I'm thinking Tuesday or Wednesday, but it's all
flexible and it's all up to you, lemme know when you are available and
we can make this work!
Peace,
Brandi
