Hello Tharindu,

To participate with GSoC there is no need of having any earlier
contribution at all.
If you dont have any experience/ contribution with FOSS projects
earlier that is not
a problem, you can go forward and start submitting proposals. But you
should be willing to continue
your contribution after the GSoC period has end. If not that should be
a real concern.

Hi Tharindu,

Since there are many new organizations this time they will be looking for new contributors. Anyway, it's one of the main goals of GSoC so having no contributions under your name shouldn't be a problem. But contact the person in charge of GSoC from the organization and start a dialog with him on your interests on the project, ideas .etc and get to know the community more. It will help.
