Hi,

I'd like to introduce myself as Desikan, currently a Master's student in Computer Science at the University of Florida. I'm interested in contributing to the following two projects for GSoC 2020 and I'd like to enquire if they are still open to be taken? I'd also like to discuss more about the project idea and end-goal.

  • Broadway - Idea#2: Filebeat Input
  • Elixir - Idea#3: Extend Makeup with support for new languages
Just to give a background about myself, I have two years of experience working as a software developer in the investment banking industry. I was introduced to Elixir through a Distributed Systems course I took in my previous semester (2019) and I have worked on around 5 projects in Elixir since then. In industry, I worked on a project with ElasticSearch and Kibana to build an analytics dashboard to track errors in application logs of different teams. We used Filebeat to get logs of applications from different teams. Hence, these two projects are of my interest, though I am open to working on other project ideas as well.

Thanks,
Desikan

Hi Desikan!

All ideas are still open, so feel free to submit proposals on any of the topics you find interesting. Beware of GSoC deadlines though. :)

We would love to have someone working on the Filebeat project. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here or reach out to me privately.

Have a good one!
