another 'local' kid making it big

Mark and I have been watching this kid (Joe Dombrowski) at the Wintergreen Ascent, Jeff Cup, Luray Cirt, and other small area races for the last couple years.  In fact he holds an obscenely fast record at Wintergreen of just above 30 minutes.  It was funny when Phil Liggett mentioned this tidbit during the coverage yesterday, on the hardest stage of the Tour of Cali (Mt Baldy) where Joe put on a massive performance.  

Some of you may remember Larry, a guy that rode 0530 with us during his vaca week a few years ago.  His local small shop 'discovered' Joe who was a cross country runner then in high school.  They put him on a bike and he was quickly shocking everyone.  It's possible we'll be seeing Joe Dombrowski in big Euro races in the years to come.  

The 'other local' making it big is Ben King of course…who is now a burgeoning workhorse on Team Radio Shack, he shocked the establishment when he won the national road AND crit championships in 2010.
