Jogger assaulted on Roanoke Island

JOGGER ASSAULTED, ROANOKE ISLAND

At 0827, on October 1, 2015, Dare County Communications received a report of a female jogger who was assaulted while jogging on the bike path along 64/264 Hwy North in the area 
of Pearce Road, Roanoke Island. Dare County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and met with the woman who describe being hit in the head by an unknown male who tried to pull her into the 
woods. She described the subject as a black male, approx. 6 foot tall, medium build, with short hair, wearing a red shirt and shiny dark jogging pants. Deputies were unable to locate anyone in the area matching the description.
