As you all know, we will be having a GSMST gaming Club "game night" in
2 weeks on Monday the 28th. It will be a ton of fun, and a chance for
everyone in the school to sit back, relax, and get their game on.

We will be meeting in Mr. Willis' room along with ping pong club, but
will eventually probably move over to caldwell's room where there are
multiple screens. We may also bring in a projector to have a third
screen.

SO, we now need people to volunteer to bring equipment. We need
consoles (Next-Gen only please), games (E-Teen), and controllers. It
would be helpful if the same people don't have to bring all three, so
please help eveyone in the club out and everyone bring something.

WHAT WE NEED for GAME Night:

* 3 (or more) consoles (PS3, 360, and Wii)

* Controllers (enough for 4 on 4 play for all consoles) Rock band
controllers also!

* Games E (everyone) to T (teen) only Allowed. (aka NO halo!)

* Parent Chaperones!

* Home made snacks and goodies!

Please Please Please Reply to this post with what you can contribute!

Thanks XD

Why do we need next gen only? I find that previous generations offer the same to more fun as modern consoles, and also offer an excellent variety of games and innovation seen only to a small extent in the current generation.

I'm thinking I might be able to bring my PS3 again.

Well I have 2 wired 360 controllers. I can bring some Wii remotes, and maybe GC controllers if Brawl is happening. there's a lot more i can bring if i knew some parameters. I have the T version of Oblivion, if someone wants to do 1p, or if single player is even allowed? i have many T rated multi-player 360 games cause i have to include my brother :P. most of my games, however, would require memory, so i might as well bring my whole system, which leads to the question: how many rooms/tvs are avialable for this night? I supplied my system and games to the GSMST Music's Guitar Hero night last year, so i have no reason to doubt everyone's respect for other's technology right? Ah one final question, will systems be able to do system links over the school's LAN? (not sure if that question may be necessary)

sorry for all the Qs, just wanna be sure.

I could bring two ps3 controllers, and I might be able to set up a router with a regular computer(one of our laptops or possibly a desktop or something, and use that for internet. Dunno. I could look into it.

Will there be epic gaming music in the background? Something like
rock, metal, or anything like that?

A couple of finer points

If you'd like to bring older systems and games, that is fine with me,
but in general the club studies the modern gaming industry.

The school's local LAN may work, but don't bet on it. If someone
wants to bring a router, then that is fine. remember, no mature games,
and no shooters (can't have realistic images or games of guns on
school grounds)

Brawl will be fine.

feel free to bring snacks to share so we're not parched and starving
as we put the beat down on the freshmen ;)

(ask your parents permission for this as well as everything else
please)

Ah, well, that no shooters thing makes things a tad bit more difficult. If the guns are unrealistic, is this acceptable?

So no music allowed?

He never really said that, so I suppose it is allowed.

No shooters that use Realistic looking guns, situations, blood, etc.

Games like Brawl for instance are fine because it's cartoon-y guns
space, and no blood.

Music is fine, as long as it is edited versions of songs. (not played
from your computer -b/c you shouldn't have music on there anyway ;)

Also, if you are going to participate in the google group, we need a
little better nickname than " * * " Please give a proper nickname, so
we can all see who it is who is posting :) Also, reemember to keep
your names clean.\

thanks, and keep the postings coming!!!!

How do we get the systems to school? Do we have our parents drop them off or do we carry them around all day (which doesn't seem like a smart idea at all)? Also, when does it end so I can tell my parents ahead of time?

Please, Please, do not schlepp your systems and games around all day,
If you want, we can leave them in Mr. Willis' room in the morning, or
we can leave them in the server room. I wil not be there monday, but
ask Mr. Willis if you can put your stuff in his room.

The gaming event will start around 5:30 and will probably go for a
couple of hours. I don't want to go too late, b/c its a weeknight, and
parents will be upset.

can we simply reschedule to friday? It sems like it would be more convenient, and not a weeknight. As well, it would be right before the robotics club movie night, if started earlier.

I will bring a wii, 4 wiimotes, super smash bros, mario kart, mario party, and guitar hero world tour. I can also bring all the controllers for world tour, but I would rather not have to bring so much stuff, so if any one can bring guitars, drums and/or a microphone(all for wii). Again I would gladly bring any of those, but still.........

Yeah, I quote Mr. Lace on this:
"The gaming event will start around 5:30 and will probably go for a
couple of hours. I don't want to go too late, b/c its a weeknight, and
parents will be upset."
That's what I was using to judge the time of the event, which actually lasted from 4:00 to 5:30
