Dear Gainesville Shambhala:

Photographs of Level III

Pictures from the Shambhala Training Level III with Will Ryken have been posted on our website.  Check out the Community page of the website.  If you click on the picture you will be taken to a web album with the photographs.  http://gainesville.shambhala.org/community.php

Will is a long time student and practitioner of the Shambhala tradition.  We were very happy to have him in Gainesville.

Next Shambhala Training levels scheduled
Level IV has been scheduled in St. Petersburg (not Gainesville) October 9, 10 and 11. The St. Pete Shambhala Group has offered to provide housing for participants and staff.

Level V with Lady Diana Mukpo will be in January 2010. The West Palm Shambhala Group will host Level V.

New Shambhala Curriculum

During 2008/2009, approximately 14 centers of different sizes in North America and Europe ran pilots of the Way of Shambhala I program.  The Way of Shambhala program is built on the framework of Shambhala Training Levels I-V.  The courses between the retreat weekends are designed to provide a practical and sequential overview of the Shambhala and Buddhist teachings.

We have very limited resources for putting this program together.  I am hoping there is enough interest for us to do a modified version of this.

I would like to meet with members of the Gainesville group to discuss how we might implement this program here.  If you are interested I will send you copies of the planning materials for you to read before we meet.  Please send me an email with suggestions of a good time to meet.

"We have to be genuine, which means not having aggression and being true to
oneself.  In that way, we can build an enlightened society.  Enlightened Society
cannot be built and cannot develop on the level of dreams or concepts.
Enlightened Society has to be real and good, honest and genuine."
- Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche
