This site is changing its focus; it was set up to generate discussion arising from a letter written to the Geological Society of London by Fellows and others in June 2018. As of 16th Dec 2019 non of the questions raised in the letter have been answered by the society which maintains that its position remains that “The scientific evidence is now overwhelming that the climate is warming and that human activity is largely responsible for this change through emissions of greenhouse gases”. The signatories to the letter dispute this but obviously the Society is taking the view that the science is settled and so no meaningful discussion is going to happen. We are disappointed but not surprised and will continue to explore the reasons why the past fifty plus years of failed climate predictions continues to receive support from the Committee of the Geological Society, with no reference to the opinions of the members, very many of whom do not agree with the committee's position. We will therefore concentrate on reaching members of the Society and those who are as yet undecided, rather than the committee.

Please join us in generating rational, unemotional observations on the accuracy or otherwise of the geological data used by the Geological Society of London to support its position on climate change. You don't have to be a Fellow of the society to express an opinion, as the society has broadcast its views well beyond the current membership. HMG, grounds its climate policy decisions partly on advice from the society, and as there is a strong possibility that some at least of this advice is mistaken, it is essential that these errors be brought into public notice and corrected wherever possible. Billions of dollars stand to be wasted if nothing is done.
