Dear parents,

See below. Please let me know if anyone would like to be responsible for collecting the responses from our class. I am very happy to provide class list etc but unfortunately will not be at pick up most days!

In the meantime, it would be great if you could respond to the Facebook poll to let me know if you have in fact filled in the survey - or just email me if you’re not on Facebook. That way I can tell the PTA we are doing our bit!

I am going through my third secondary transfer this year, and it is a very stressful time. Speaking from personal experience, when Archer Academy opened as my second daughter was in year 5 we were delighted to finally have a strong local co-educational option. Many of her friends are at Archer and are loving it there. It is very disappointing that merely 3 years later the catchment area has become so small that it excludes most of the Garden Suburb students. Even if you have other options in mind for your child, please contribute for their classmates! :)

Following a meeting held last week regarding the Archer Academy consultation we are proposing to conduct a campaign in the playground this coming week to collect as many responses to the survey as possible.

We think this will be best done class by class and would like at least one person from each class who is happy to be responsible for collecting the responses from their class. What we are proposing:

- we will run this from Monday 18th January - Friday 22nd January at pick up.
- for each class we will use a list of children in that class. Parents should be asked if they have completed the online survey
- if online surveys have not been completed, we will ask them to complete a paper version in the playground (we will provide these)
- we will then centrally input in all the data onto the Archer Academy website

There is strong opposition to the Archer Academy proposal which will guarantee Garden Suburb children 15 places on top of any siblings or geographical places, without this change in admission the number of place that will be given to GS children will be down to just a handful as the catchment area continues to shrink. Even if this does not impact people directly, we should be supporting as it impacts our school community.

We really need as much help as possible. I’d appreciate if you could let me know as soon as possible if you are able to help for class. If you yourself aren’t able to help if you know of anyone else who might be able to help if you could pass on their name that would help
