The program stopped working after I used it several times. I use
windows Vista. The software won't connect with the internet and
neither I, nor my tech person can figure why it doesn't make the
connection. A message popped up that GSite Crawler is a suspected
phishing site and I couldn't connect to your website all day
yesterday, even after I made GSiteCrawler a trusted site in the
security section of internet options on my toolbar. I was surprised
this morning when I was able to connect to your site. But, I am
totally perplexed as to why the crawler cannot connect to my website.
Please help! I get these error message: winHTTP-Error -214701 Linked
from URL-LIST . . . and SITE-CRAWLER + Google SiteMap creator has
stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working
correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a
solution is available. I also get this messagw when I am Testing the
ftp connection to my site - ERROR!: Permission Denied. Indicates that
user does not have appropriate permissions to use this functionality.
Connection Closed. Error on Login: 10013 - Permission Denied.
Indicates that user does not have appropriate permissions to use this
functionality. Final reply= (0) *** CONNECTION ATTEMPT FAILED *** I
uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, but, that didn't help.
What else can I do? Thanks, Tommy

Leave FTP aside for now. You can always upload the sitemap yourself
after GSC has generated it.

With Vista there are many extra security/privacy issues which you have
to tame.

For one thing the GSC program has to be run as adminstrator in Vista.

It also seems that your Vista has suatained an update. Or maybe other
software you have (e.g. Spypot, Kaspersky ) have been upgraded and
now their settings are stricter. In that case you need to check
through settings to see what they block.

Try this first and lets 'see if you still have problems and which
ones.

Thanks, it was the settings in my AVG firewall that was blocking the
connection . . . GSite Crawler is the best!

I just started getting this message as well.  One minute it's working, the next it's not, and giving me the same message.

I'm in Windows 7.  I stopped my firewall momentarily to see if that helped but it did not.  Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Check to see if you are crawling the correct canonical form, not one that is redirected.

The program won't even open.  I right-click on it as usual to Run as Administrator... I get the blue startup screen that shows a progress bar, then the message appears.

Has it ever worked?
Maybe you need to reinstall it. You need not request it every time to run as administrator. You only need to set that up once so it will always run as administrator.
