For some reason our Gsite stopped crawling. When we select “crawl this
project”, it just sits there.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help

What software (e.g. OS, firewall) changes did you make since the last
time it worked properly?

You must have had a change. Maybe your firewall got updated or
something.

My GSW has stopped working too. I have made no changes and use XP Pro.
Could there have been a Windows update that did something?
I do not think it is a firewall issue because there is not even an
attempt made to connect.
In any case, I have made nbo firewall changes and have GSW approved.

Please help!

www.officefinder.com.
I have completed many crawls and recrawls of this URL in the past.
It just stopped working recently.

Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall the program?

Jim I have no problem using GSC to crawl your site.
I'm using Vista.

It does take long however, there are many thousands of urls.

I don't know what options you used. I don't crawl images and other
types of documents, except web pages.
I also don't import known urls from Google.

You have broken links though.

They all work for me when I click on them.

And in the past, I have had no problem crawling the site either.
It just stopped working.

I guess I will have to uninstall and then reinstall to try again...

I think I found a fix.

1. Open GSiteCrawler
2. Click the show button
3. Under Crawler Watch select "Clear Total Queue"

When I did this it started working.

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not work.
I have even tried adding other URLs. The problem is the crawler just
won't start....

It worked for me but I killed it when I saw it had thousands of urls
to crawl.

And those urls did respond with 404 yesterday, when they were being
crawled.

You can re-download the latest verison and reinstall it.

I have uninstalled GSC and reinstalled it along with the update.
It is working fine now. A little slow to go through our 60,000
links, but at least it gets the job done!

Happy New Year,
