to GS1 Digital Link Developers
Hi all,

First of all, I realise that I have not been keeping an eye on people asking to join this list. I just approved another 24 members. Apologies to you if you have been waiting for a long time.

This list has a very, very low traffic but is a quick way to reach people who, in whatever context, are working with GS1 Digital Link and GS1-Conormant resolvers.

The reason for writing today is that we need to kill off the developers' resolver that we've been running unofficially for some years. GS1 Digital Link began life as and innovation project but is now part of the mainstream Global Migration to 2D Programme. Therefore, it is much more appropriate to work with your local GS1 Member Organisation rather than experimenting with the demo resolver at resolver-dv1.gs1.org (which has not been updated for a long time).

The production system includes a staging resolver that can be used for experiments - you'll need to contact your local GS1 MO for details.

The code for the Community Edition resolver on GitHub has been updated recently to follow the GS1-Conformant resolver standard (published February 2024). The test suite is being updated right now and should be online and helpful again within a couple of weeks all being well.

If switching off the developers resolver is going to cause any problems for you, please let me know but I admit, I'm kinda hoping this is completely non-controversial!

Thanks

Phil
