It appears that once in a blue moon (we've had it with one other user so
far) there is a clash with another driver from a product that uses the
same USB chipset. It seems that you have this problem. The real
frustration is that Windows never tells you with which file it cannot
find. Anyhow what we've done in the new version (not released yet -
soon) is to change the driver files and driver to have unique file names
so that there should not be any problems like this anymore.
I will send you the beta version and you can rather use it or you need
to find out which other USB product you have is causing the problem and
un-install that.
Kind Regards
Kobus

Just a quick inquiry to see if the beta of the update you mentioned is
available yet, so that I could try it to see if it corrects my
problem?
Thanks,

you can download the latest Beta here:
http://www.hex.co.za/gs911/download/GS-911-1.17.exe
this will soon (end of March) be replaced with the latest beta that adds
integral ABS to the 1150 line-up. The current version has the updated
USB driver as well.
Best,
Stephan
Unfortunately version 1.17 did not solve my issue. I am still in the
scenario where each time I connect the GS-911 to my USB port I have to
go through the entire USB driver wizard which never actually completes
successfully. Stops at the previously mentioned "Cannot Install this
Hardware HEX GS911" message box. The GS-911 software will still run
(and connect to the device) if started at this point, but if the
device is disconnected I am back to square one. And as before in
Device Manager the device is listed with a ! exclamation mark.
Ideas? Thinks to check and report to you that might help?
Thanks,
Ken H.
