Hello again '9X enthusiast peoples, so soon.

It's raining and cold here in Auckland, NZ. I'm all alone, sort of bored and rather in need of a good old rant. So at the risk of wasting everyone's time, here goes ..

After yesterday's little 'lament' speech (by me) about pricing and what not, I decided after mowing the lawn (in the rain) today to sit down and take a close look at the figures again, to see if in fact I could shave some coinage off the price of the two boards I hand make. And guess what? ...

I am pleased to announce (and hoping the USD/NZ exchange rate doesn't move too much any time soon!) that both the pre-assembled gProg and RTC/SD-card board products have new, lower prices. Still not as low as one might hope -- but a significant reduction, never the less.

A big factor in the RTC/SD case is that I no longer have to fiddle about putting JST terminals on the end of eight, tedious little wires -- thanks to the pre-wired JST 8pin product from China, found on eBay. Yay \o/ -- I will note that I am nervous about ending up working for nothing, again. But I do feel better, knowing the prices are truly as low as as I make them, for now anyway.

Mirko -- If you are reading this, I received your message, complaining about the high pricing for the little boards. But you don't appear to have provided a valid reply address. If the new, reduced prices are still not good enough, then I apologise. It's the best I can do. By all means, please use the open-hardware design files available on the gruvin9x project site to build your own "epoxy and some components" (and some intellectual property and some valued personal time.)

In other news, if you could call it that, I also set about making the special combo price for G9X v4.2 + gProg + RTC/SD-card boards more noticeable and easy to access -- on the G9Xv4.2 product page.

You know, I really do have to take my hat off to all those folk who run online (or real world) retail stores for a living. It can be a crazy LOT of work. One can spent hours just making pretty pictures, like this one ...

... just to help make things clear to shoppers, so they don't accidentally miss out on the better deal, just by pressing the wrong buttons. (I am such a worry-wart. Can't help it! *shrug* *sigh*)

I'd far rather be out flying my planes and helicopters -- or writing code -- or just about anything else, really. But it's all for a good cause I guess. :-D

Even worse -- and I hope you all find this at least a little bit humorous, if not ironic -- is this awkward feeling I have, that just by becoming a retailer -- a 'salesperson' no less (OMG!) -- that, as an otherwise innocent engineer/consumer type, I have now somehow, 'crossed over to the dark side'! It's amazing sometimes, how walking a mile in another's shoes really can challenge long held perspectives. :P (Perhaps I need psychological assistance? LOL -- Do let me know! :P)
