Gruvin9x is all but dead in the water. There's been no assistance getting things done in there the way I want it (a lack of time and resources, mostly, I think) and I don't have the energy lately -- or the skills to keep up with open9x features -- to do it myself.

Open9x is miles and now miles ahead in terms of features and support for various things -- including SD card model backup/restore, etc. I don't have half a hope of ever catching up. Frankly, attempting to do so would just be silly.

So the best thing I can suggest is for everyone that has been using gruvin9x firmware to change over to open9x -- along with companion9x, to handle model data conversion, etc.

You will find in last release (r1029) the support of FAT32 + lower case in filenames + an SD file manager. I plan to add a logs viewer when I find the time.

Cool. :-D

Am I correct in my assertion that the log system is not one of the presently available companion9x download options?

I don't know if you did more work on it or not -- to slow it down and what not, either.

Or can/should we just compile our own version of open9x to get this feature?

Thanks.

Bryan.

You have to choose the "sdcard" option, and you will get the RTC, the Models backup / restore and the logs.
If you want to compile open9x with this option enabled you just have to use the parameter SDCARD=YES

Oh. Well, I did that. I do have working RTC and SDCARD functions -- model backup/restore, etc. But I can't find the log functions anywhere in the menus -- or in function switches.

You are right, I forgot to enable it again. It was disabled because it slowed down the mixer. But now the mixer calculations are in an interrupt (higher priority than menus / SD / EEPROM / lcd ...), and there is no more reason to disable it. I will solve first an issue when logging is enabled and you backup a model in the same time (the f_mount has to be called only one time).

Thanks Bertrand.

Was there an option to slow the logging down? 10 times a second was excessive -- my first test run only, of course.

Ideally, there would be a menu option for it. Something like "Log every [1s|2s|5s|10|s|30s|1m|5m|10m]". *shrug*

Excellent idea! Will be done soon. The same kind of parameter is needed when playing telemetry in function switches. The problem is the lack of spare time these days ...

Perhaps only in there is enough?

I know the feeling!
