Turkey Introduces Istanbul Tourism Through New Cool Film

Turkey's Tourism Promotion and Development Agency is promoting Istanbul tourism through three "New Cool" films. The three titles are “Taste in Istanbul is the New Cool”, “Shopping in Istanbul is the New Cool” and “Art in Istanbul is the New Cool.

Interestingly, Istanbul was chosen as one of the best cities in the world according to a reader survey from various leading publications at the end of 2021. In fact, Istanbul consistently ranks in the top destination category according to surveys and best lists published in international media.

"The three films highlight the dynamic and diverse city as a popular destination that provides varied experiences for both short-term and long-term travelers. The show will be broadcast on television and digital channels in 178 countries," wrote Turkey's Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA). ) in his statement Friday (25/3/2022).

In the film Art in Istanbul is the New Cool, history, various arts and cultural events are shown. Tourists are spoiled for adventure different in almost every district, Istanbul is a city full of treasures with historic buildings, heritage of the city's past, as well as art and culture that is constantly evolving.

“Art in stanbul is the New Cool” is dedicated to the city's unique history, referring to the Hagia Sophia, considered the eighth wonder of the world. The film also highlights the Ataturk Cultural Center, which reopened last year with a new building, along with a modern art museum. and contemporary such as Istanbul Modern and Santral Istanbul.

In addition, this "city that never sleeps" features a complete kaleidoscope of arts and cultural events throughout the year such as the Istanbul contemporary art exhibition and the Beyoglu Culture Route Festival.

Meanwhile, the film "Taste in stanbul is the New Cool" shows the culinary tastes of Istanbul at various street corners. Influenced by the heritage of the many civilizations that shaped the city, Istanbul's cuisine is a great reason to explore the city.

“Taste in Istanbul is the New Cool” highlights a variety of traditional Istanbul dishes, reflecting the fusion of European and Asian flavours. The film opens with a traditional Turkish breakfast and Turkish tea in a tulip-shaped cup served at popular restaurants and cafes, including views of the Maiden Tower. Towards dinner, delicious mezes are served in the restaurant overlooking the Bosphorus.

The film also highlights desserts such as the world-famous baklava and gullac, a traditional Turkish dessert prepared with cornstarch, rosewater, milk and sugar, along with Turkish coffee and Turkish delight, a typical Turkish snack. Delicious dishes such as köfte (meatballs), kebabs and doner are featured, as are street vendors selling simit, a popular Turkish bread.

Not only that, countless fine dining venues in the city with a selection of international cuisine are also featured.

Meanwhile, the film "Shopping in Istanbul is the New Cool" shows the face of Istanbul as a global shopping center. As the largest and most developed city in Turkey, Istanbul excels in providing a wide range of shopping experiences ranging from historical bazaars, retail shops, to luxury boutiques.

Grand Bazaar, one of the shopping malls located in the oldest indoor building in the world, treats tourists with authentic souvenirs ready to take home, including hand-woven rugs, hand-painted ceramic tiles, traditional tea sets, and other interesting souvenirs.

Turkish designer specialty boutiques invite fashionistas to own every fashion design. Not to forget, international and world-famous brands can be found in Taksim and Nisantası, two of the city's busiest shopping districts.
