From the city of New Delhi, the capital of India, I and my friends chose a road trip. Although it takes up to 24 hours. But the scenery offered actually adds to the unforgettable experience. Scattered countryside perched on the slopes of the mountains. The river splits the hills. Herders parade sheep. Crossing the mountainous row with a gaping chasm. Passing the old bridge with a rushing stream below. Befriended by drizzle and swept away the blue sky decorated with white cloud hangers.
The first day in Kashmir, we spent time sipping at the beauty of Sonamarg hill station. Satisfied to polish the eyes with a row of snow-hooded gemunung in a valley dubbed golden grassland all day, in the afternoon we returned to Srinagar. The next day as the sun poked between the curves of the snow-covered mountains, we continued on our way to Gulmarg.
It is 52 km from Srinagar city. It is located in Baramulla distric in southern Srinagar city. We spent 1800 Rupees to rent a car all day. This car rental includes gasoline and driver (all include), if in rupiahkan around Rp. 400,000.
Dal Lake is out of sight. Passing through srinagar's old city, a row of military trucks were packed with soldiers. The rest of the war is more pronounced. Several times we passed jeeps and soldiers with long rifles stood guard. This is because Gulmarg is close to the Line of Control between Pakistan and India.
