Hi, I have a LG C2 and I don't use transcode enabled, but I got "Playback error, not enough cpu for conversion of this item" and I activated transcoding to check if it would play, via browser I can play with transcode disabled, but on LG I can't at all, server is local, does anyone have any idea what it could be?

The transcoding gives you the opportunity to stream tv from the Solo2 to your pc at the office or your tablet. It works both inside and outside of the home network, therefore it also works over the internet, if you have the correct ports open in your router. It also works via 3g if your connection is good enough.

The Vu+ Solo2 really delivers on many points. It is definitely the fastest twin tuner PVR right now here in early 2013. The receiver seems stable even at this early stage and it will be interesting to follow the transcoding function developing more in the coming months.

Say we have setup an no-ip url called myvusolo2.zapto.org we type myvusolo2.zapto.org:8099 in the web browser . You should now hopefully be able to connect remotely to your Vu+ Solo2 web interface and start transcoding via the channel list.

The first tow times I changed the bitrate I was surprised to see no difference in PQ after the stream had restarted. When I use 50kbs in other images the PQ is really bad. So it looks like the new setting isn't actually applied.

2) A means of watching your satellite receiver on a portable Android-device at home. If you have a receiver with two or more tuners, then you can even stream an alternative channel and watch a different channel to the one displayed on the connected TV. On selected receivers, such as Vu+ Solo2, Vu+ Duo2 and Vu+ SoloSE, you can enable the transcoding function. This will enable streaming on an alternate port with the ability to watch HD channels with reduced bit rate.

3) A remote viewer. If you have a very good upload speed from home and download speed from your current location, you can watch the stream from your satellite receiver remotely. The app can work from anywhere in the world where you can get a good WiFi/Mobile connection. All you need is a dynamic DNS address at home, e.g. DynDNS and forward ports on your router. Possible scenarios are airport lounges, hotels, etc. Receivers supporting transcoding, such as Vu+ Solo2, Vu+ Duo2 and Vu+ SoloSE can enable this function and take advantage of this since lower upload speed is required in this mode.

Please note that in case of streaming problems, the majority of the problems are not related to Vu+ Player but more likely they are due to (temporary) problems with your network, receiver and/or your Android-device. Network-problems can be difficult to track down and resolve but many times they are temporary so please try again. Streaming HD content without transcoding may be difficult due to bandwidth-issues and/or processing power of some Android devices. If your problems are persistent, please use the support-area for which a link is available within the app instead of giving bad ratings.

Internal parsing, the downloaded streams are parsed internally. This allows the element to fully respect the various specifications and offer accurate buffering, seeking and playback. This is especially important for HLS streams which require parsing for proper positioning of streams.

The "new" playback elements introduced in 1.18 (playbin3 and its various components) have been refactored to allow more use-cases and improve performance. They are no longer considered experimental, so applications using the legacy playback elements (playbin and (uri)decodebin) can migrate to the new components to benefit from these improvements.

This is a quality of life fix for playout and streaming applications where it is common to have audio and video mixer elements that should operate in live mode from the start and produce output continuously.

The GStreamer Rust bindings are released separately with a different release cadence that's tied to gtk-rs, but the latest release has already been updated for the new GStreamer 1.22 API. Both plugins provides elements that replace the existing qtmux/mp4mux element from gst-plugins-good. While not feature-equivalent yet, the new codebase and using separate elements for the fragment and non-fragmented case allows for easier extensability in the future.
