Hello 9298047. The lights that you're seeing are the heart rate monitor (green) and pulse oximeter (red) lights. You are able to turn these features off, though that would eliminate the necessary information for sleep data to be calculated.

If you lift the watch off your wrist a bit, I would guess that you will continue to see the green lights flashing. However, if the contact with the skin is broken, that will tell the watch that you're no longer wearing it, so ot will cease trying to measure your heart rate and the green light will turn off.
Thank you 9298047. It is hard to tell, but I think that your watch may be a bit too loose. Try tightening it by one eyelet. The lights in the video are of normal brightness. If you still are having issues with waking up due to the lights, you can experiment a bit more with the snugness of the watch or you could also turn off the optical heart rate sensor and the pulse ox sensor off while you sleep.
Every now and again though, my Apple Watch goes through a funny patch, usually lasting a week or so (once every month or two), in which shortly after setting it down to charge, every couple of minutes its watch face comes on at full brightness.
You can check your heart rate any time using the Heart Rate app. Open the app, then wait for Apple Watch to measure your heart rate. You can also view your resting, walking, breathe, workout, and recovery rates throughout the day. To easily open the app, add the Heart Rate complication to your watch face.
You can also turn on heart rate notifications, so you know if your heart rate remains above or below a chosen beats per minute (BPM), or to occasionally check for an irregular heart rhythm.
Irregular rhythm notifications are available only with watchOS 5.1.2 or later. To enable irregular rhythm notifications, the notifications must be available in your country or region. Learn where irregular rhythm notifications are available.
The optical heart sensor can also use infrared light. This mode is what Apple Watch uses when it measures your heart rate in the background, and for heart rate notifications. Apple Watch uses green LED lights to measure your heart rate during workouts and Breathe sessions, and to calculate walking average and Heart Rate Variability (HRV).
While L.A. might lure in visitors with breezy palm trees, the region is no slouch when it comes to conifers. Case in point: This grand, mile-long driveway of cedars in Altadena becomes blanketed in lights each holiday as it transforms into Christmas Tree Lane. Take a majestic cruise down the hill after it lights up (the lighting ceremony takes place December 9). And we do suggest going down: Traffic can get pretty gridlocked during peak holiday season, but it moves a bit better if you start at the top and head south (or just visit later in the evening, before the lights flick off at 10pm).

Ah, the joys of Christmas in a Mediterranean climate, where boat owners can deck out their ships in holiday lights and set sail without the impediment of icy weather. For the 115th year, the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade is doing just that as over 100 decorated yachts and ships parade around a 14-mile circuit in the Newport Harbor. You can see the parade for free during each of the five nights from any bay-facing point along the harbor (Marina Park, which also hosts a holiday market, is the go-to spot), but there are also reserved seats, dining packages and cruises available for purchase.
Apple Watch wearers might occasionally notice green lights on the back of the wearable. While this is totally normal, it can be worth knowing why they are there, what they do, and how to turn them off. Apple Watch continues to be the best smartwatch for iPhone owners, but getting used to all the features can take some time. The use of the green light is one such example. The back of the Apple Watch regularly lights up with bright green lights, and if you aren't sure what they are, they can be rather alarming.
The green light on an Apple Watch may seem ominous, especially considering it's on the rear of the device and likely to go unnoticed by the wearer most of the time. In fact, the green lights can sometimes turn on even when the watch is not being worn, adding to their mysterious nature. Despite all that, the lights are simply used to measure people's heart rate. Essentially, an Apple Watch uses these green LED lights to detect the amount of blood flow and then uses that to help determine the actual heart rate. At times when the watch is taking more frequent heart rate measurements, the green LED lights will be even more active.
The Apple Watch uses green lights to measure heart rate because blood absorbs green light. The green LED lights are paired with light-sensitive photodiodes that can detect the amount of blood flowing through the wearer's wrist. A higher heart rate translates into more blood flow, and consequently, greater absorption of green light. Even though it might not be apparent, Apple Watch's green lights flash hundreds of times per second and the optical heart rate sensor can measure a user's heart rate in the range of 30-210 beats per minute.
Apple Watch's optical heart rate sensor can also use infrared light to measure heart rate in the background and provide heart rate notifications. The green lights on the other hand are used to measure the wearer's heart rate during workouts and while using the Breathe app. Apart from heart rate, the Apple Watch can also capture an ECG, but this is done by placing a finger on the Digital Crown.
In addition to green lights, Apple Watch users may also occasionally notice red lights on the rear of the smartwatch. Like the green lights, the red lights also indicate another health tracking feature, in this case, blood oxygen monitoring. The Apple Watch Series 6 and later are able to measure the wearer's blood oxygen (SpO2) levels. The bright red lights work similarly to the green lights, using the photodiodes to calculate the level of oxygenation in the wearer's blood.
If blood oxygen and background readings are enabled on an Apple Watch, wearers might notice the red lights while they're in bed, given that measurements are calculated while sleeping. If this is a problem, users can turn off background measurements by opening the Settings app on Apple Watch, tapping 'Blood Oxygen' and then turning off 'In Sleep Focus' and 'In Cinema Mode.' Apple Watch users can take a manual reading of their blood oxygen at any time by opening the Blood Oxygen app and following the prompts.
The watch has a hard plastic case which is curved to fit over your wrist. The strap section is polyurethane with a seamless butterfly clasp at the back. To adjust the strap simply cut the polyurethane strap down to size to fit your wrist perfectly. This means it is suitable for both small and large wrists.
Seven lights up for 10 seconds when you press the button to reveal the time. There is a subtle pulsing effect as the light gets brighter and then fades out. There are also three user selectable light up options to choose from: 1) Continuous: the watch pulses the time constantly. 2) Every 30 seconds: the watch lights up to show the time and fades out every 30 seconds. 3) Every 5 minutes: the watch lights up to show the time and fades out once every 5 minutes. Or, you can turn the automatic light up feature off completely.

Reset the watch back to factory settings. This fixed mine. Do not even manually run any of the additional health features, even if you go into it and set to manual. This stopped mine from going off all day.
As a side note: after I purchased this watch I realized I have a implant (spinal cord stimulator). If you have an implant of any kind please be careful with the tests this watch can run. I called my rep on this and I was told to make sure my implant was shut off before running any tests (ekg/ stress ect) as it could possibly cause problems. So at least I cought this kind of early after getting the watch and made sure the features were disabled.
Hi, I have my Samsung watch 4 only 3 days now and have the same observation. Personally I think the green light starts malfunctioning when the battery is under 30% full. I have improved the problem by setting the screen activation on tuch, instead of moving your hand up and as well I just charge the watch when see the light malfunctioning. Really hope Samsung solve this issue soon. Best regards
