Hi,

I don't know if it's the right place to ask this question, but I think
you probably know the answer.

I have installed grub4dos with bootlace.com command on a Gnu/Linux system.

I didn't find the way to install all grub4dos files into a different path but /

Is it possible ? how ?

Thanks In Advance,

d4lamar

Hi, d4lamar,

When you installed grub4dos boot code to MBR, then the kernel file (named
"grldr") of grub4dos must be found at the /(root) of any partition that
grub4dos can recognized(FAT, NTFS, EXT...). Other files(such as menu.lst,
splash image) have no limit on install path.

Good luck.

Thanks,

I look at the code, I think there's a technical problem to move grldr
in a directory, cause there's not enough space on MBR to manage the
directory structure of any supported FS. Is it ? Or is it only a not
requested feature ?

Thanks,

I guess so, otherwise it would be logical to implement it.

It would be pretty cool if we could install grldr into the Volume Boot
Record, perhaps then is enough space?

It is a requested feature.
