I have written a gRFC to add support for the host_rewrite_literal route configuration, which is currently ignored by xds clients.
It includes a link to an implementation in golang, and there was initial discussion here.
Looking forward to hearing any feedback. The implementation mirrors the support that was added for auto host rewrites.
